How Can We Recognize the Voice of God?

God’s voice to man is a form of inspiration or guidance that the Holy Spirit gives to man, and therefore, His voice or guidance must carry His characteristics and signs.
First, it enlightens the mind by knowing the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven and God’s will; that leads us to the truth of the Gospel. The voice of the Holy Spirit cannot contradict the truth of the Gospel and the commandments of Christ.
Second, it will be accompanied by the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit, and it will be steadfast, giving proof of faith, not wavering skeptical, troubled, and hesitant in thought.
Thirdly, it leads to the fulfillment of God’s pleasure and desire, which is the love for one another and our unity with Christ. It cannot lead to hatred and division. It can also heal wounds and not hurt oneself or others.
Fourth, it should be in harmony with the power of forgiveness of the blood of Jesus Christ and not a trigger for feelings of guilt and depression.
Fifth, God’s voice releases our souls into the freedom of the glory of God’s children, not to be bound by chains of the love of the world, the lusts, and the desires of Satan.
